Under the supervision of a lead teacher, the faculty assistant contributes significantly to the lower school's educational program by teaching and providing support to students through small group instruction and one-on-one instruction. The faculty assistant works with the homeroom teacher, in addition to select resource classes to provide support and assistance with their students.

Compensation: The annual base salary for the school year ranges from $34,800-38,000 based on previous experience. Transcripts and verification of employment will be required. Key Responsibilities
- Engage children in learning, support problem solving, and supervise children throughout the day.
- Lead small group experiences as determined by lead teacher
- Take initiative to identify students needing additional support.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan daily activities, gather materials, and set up experiences.
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing the curriculum and classroom routines.
- Use independent judgment to reinforce educational goals based on student needs.
- Work with the lead teacher in assessing and evaluating students.
- Perform duties of lead teacher when absent or in meetings outside the classroom.
- Keep the classroom teacher and lower school division head abreast of issues or concerns.

- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods. For elementary and lower school, sit on the floor for extended periods of time.
- Ability to enter data into a computer, to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors, and on the telephone
- Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone
- Physical ability to lift, carry and/or hold up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height
- Ability to occasionally balance, reach, bend, squat, stoop, or kneel
- Ability to climb stairs, walk, and occasionally run, if required
Qualifications And Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in an Education - or related field of study.
- Min. 1 year experience working with children, preferably in a teaching or tutoring role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
