Job Description
Pelican State Electric is seeking an experienced and dependable Commercial Lead Electrician to join our growing team. The ideal applicant will have a proven history of successfully leading commercial electrical projects and supervising a crew.
Although this position primarily involves commercial work, the applicant must also be willing and able to perform residential electrical work as needed.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electricians and helpers
- Read and interpret electrical plans, specifications and schedules
- Plan daily work and assign tasks to crew members
- Coordinate manpower, materials and jobsite activities
- Perform commercial electrical installations, troubleshooting and repairs
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and according to applicable codes
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors and project representatives
- Track project progress and report jobsite needs
- Perform residential electrical work when needed
- Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles
Qualifications
- Verifiable experience as a commercial lead electrician or electrical foreman
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and installations
- Ability to independently manage a crew and maintain production
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical plans
- Working knowledge of the NEC and jobsite safety requirements
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Dependable attendance and professional attitude
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Reliable transportation to the designated meeting or work location
- Résumé or verifiable work history is required
Compensation and Benefits
- $27–$34 per hour, depending on experience
- Take-home vehicle privileges may depend on the employee’s home location
- 90-day retention bonus for successfully completing the first 90 days with satisfactory performance and no unexcused absences
