We are seeking a paralegal to join the Institutional Sex Assault practice area in our New Orleans office. The ideal candidate holds a Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program, has at least 2 years of relevant experience, and is confident managing a busy caseload in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and tech-savvy, and who brings a high level of professionalism and empathy to client interactions.
What your average day will look like:
- Communicate with potential and current clients to collect and update case information
- Collaborate closely with attorneys and fellow paralegals on litigation strategy and case progress
- Manage and organize large volumes of case-related documents
- Draft, proofread, and finalize legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, and correspondence
- Handle docketing, calendaring, and deadline tracking
- Filing pleadings in both state and federal court
- Assist with trial preparation
- Maintain accurate records in legal case management software
What skills are we looking for?
- Paralegal Certificate from an accredited university program
- 2 years of paralegal experience in litigation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Adobe Acrobat/PowerPDF
- Comfortable using legal case management systems (Salesforce experience a plus)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- Compassionate and confident communicator with clients
