2nd shift (3:30pm - 12am - Monday Friday) Machine Operator needed in our South Bend, Indiana location. Come work for an awesome employer that values their employees. The Machine Operator employee is a self-motivated team player, who has the flexibility to adapt the workload as customer changes are communicated and evolve within the day to day operations of the cell. They have the skills to successfully work with their assigned machinery to keep it running efficiently and safely. Effective Machine Operators can think on their feet, make quick decisions and have strong attention to detail to ensure no machinery issues go unnoticed. The Machine Operator will be responsible for gluing connector components & performing various tasks such as, machine set up, operate, monitor, and run various machines in accordance with customer and PEI specifications safely.

- High School Diploma or GED Preferred or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

- Meet the production fulfillment needs of internal and external customers
- S etting up machine, utilizing variety of tooling, perform 1 st piece inspection checks .
- Tool selection-Top tools and bases.
- Sleeve selection.
- Height Stopper Adjustment.
- Paddle Push Activation-Priming.
- Dial Position Set up and Verification.
- Arbor press tool selection set up for bumpback.
- Vision System.
- Perform Height adjustments with tooling & components.
- Operator tooling PM’s.
- Trouble shooting-Machine adjustments for required insertion application.
- Ability to use standardized tools of measurement (Computerized Vision Measurements, arbor presses, depth indicators, go/no-go gages, and other standardized tools/ equipment
- Operate complex machinery safely, accurately, and efficiently per the work order and work instructions.
- Must be able to interpret specifications using multiple place decimals.
- Ability to Read, understand and follow work orders, specifications and “special” instructions as outlined on the work orders.
- Read, understand and complete all production department documentation and work instructions to the PEI-Genesis ISO9001 and AS9100 standard.
- Ability to use or learn basic computer skills.
- Work orders must be completed daily to meet Facility Promise Date and Cycle Time metrics
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area to eliminate FOD (Foreign Object Debris)
- Utilize necessary Kanban and FIFO methodologies.
- Must be able achieve passing score on Insertion Training Operation Curriculum in order to demonstrate competence in the core job requirements
- Manual lifting up to 35 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 70 lbs. on occasion (with assistance).
- Repetitive detailed work with hands for 8 hours of the day.
- Must have range of motion to push/pull lever up/down with moderate force
- Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours.
- Be able to reach overhead with or without the aid of a ladder or step stool.
- Ability to Grip/Grasp at least 8 hours of the day.
