What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Service Advisor position at PEG Staffing & Recruiting?
Technical Support & Training Specialist (Commercial HVAC / Equipment)
Direct Hire | Full Benefits | Growth-Focused Role
I’m partnering with a well-established commercial HVAC equipment distributor that’s expanding its technical support and training team. This is a direct-hire, non-union opportunity designed for experienced commercial field service professionals who are ready to step out of constant truck time and into a more strategic, support-driven role—without losing their technical edge.
If you like solving problems, teaching others, and being the person everyone calls when things get complicated, this role has your name on it.

- Must be open to travel as needed for:
- Equipment start-ups
- Installation support

- Become a product expert across a broad commercial equipment portfolio
- Lead technical training for contractors and internal teams, including:
- Equipment overview
- Installation best practices
- Start-up procedures
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Provide advanced technical support via phone, email, and jobsite visits
- Support start-ups and resolve field issues with practical, real-world solutions

What They’re Looking For
- Background in commercial field service (HVAC a MUST)
- Strong troubleshooting and application support experience
- Comfortable presenting, training, and explaining technical concepts
- Willingness to obtain manufacturer certifications (company-paid)
- Ability to travel extensively when required
- OSHA 10-Hour Safety certification (or willingness to complete)
- This is a great fit for someone who enjoys the technical side of the work but wants less day-to-day field grind and more influence.
- Compensation & Benefits
- Direct-hire position
- 100% employer-paid medical insurance for employee and family (yes, really)
- Company-paid training and manufacturer certifications
- Long-term career growth into senior technical or training leadership paths
Why This Role Wins
- You still get your hands dirty—just not every single day. You’re the expert, the trainer, the fixer, and the calm voice when things go sideways. Less windshield time, more impact.
- If you’re ready to trade constant field calls for a role with visibility, stability, and real upside, let’s talk.
