Job Title: Optician

Job Summary: We are a private Optometry practice with three locations in Annapolis, Gambrills, and Bowie. Our team prides itself on creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for both patients and staff. We are currently seeking an experienced Optician who is passionate about helping patients find the perfect eyewear while delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses based on prescription requirements, lifestyle, and personal preferences.
• Interpret and verify optical prescriptions provided by our optometrists.
• Take precise measurements for proper lens placement, including pupillary distance and segment height.
• Adjust and fit eyewear to ensure comfort, vision accuracy, and style.
• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and proper eyewear care.
• Process orders and collaborate with optical labs to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
• Inspect finished eyewear for accuracy and perform adjustments or repairs as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage optical inventory.
• Work as part of a dedicated team to provide exceptional patient experiences.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in handling eyewear and optical equipment.

Qualifications & Skills:

• At least one year of optical experience is required.
• Optical sales experience is highly preferred.
• Any experience with Eyefinity software is a huge plus!
• Strong knowledge of optical products, lens types, and frame styles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must be friendly, personable, and professional.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
• Basic computer skills for processing orders and maintaining records.
• Lab tech experience (Preferred)
