Key Responsibilities:
The Optical Lab Technician is an hourly, hands-on role supporting daily lab production activities, with primary responsibility for lens cutting operations. This position requires extreme attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and flexibility, as the technician will also support other lab and operational duties as needed. The role involves operating production machinery, maintaining accurate inventory, and ensuring quality standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate lens cutting, edging, tracing, and related lab machinery according to standard procedures
- Produce lenses accurately and efficiently to meet production and quality requirements
- Perform visual and dimensional quality checks to ensure specifications are met
- Perform daily cleaning, routine maintenance, and calibration of the MEI EasyFit to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and coordinate with the manufacturer or internal teams for service when required
- Maintain accurate lens inventory by tracking usage, labeling, storing materials properly, and reporting discrepancies
- Update inventory records using manual logs or system tools as required
- Manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy, productivity, and attention to detail
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Follow all safety, quality, and standard operating procedures
- Assist with additional lab, QC, or operational tasks as assigned based on daily needs
- Support crosstraining efforts and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to multitask in a fastpaced, hourly production environment
- Flexibility and willingness to perform a variety of tasks
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong organizational skills, including inventory tracking
- Prior experience in manufacturing, production, or lab environments
- Experience with inventory tracking or production systems
- Optical or precision manufacturing experience (preferred but not required)
- Ability to stand for extended periods during scheduled shifts
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring fine motor skills
- Ability to lift, move, and handle materials as required
