Legal Secretary – Washington, D.C. (Penn Quarter, Hybrid)
Peebles Bergin Schulte & Robinson LLP, a national law firm representing Indian tribes and tribally owned entities, seeks an experienced Legal Secretary to join our Washington, D.C. (Penn Quarter) office. This can be a hybrid position.
Overview
This role provides legal and administrative support to four attorneys. The position requires independence, professionalism, strong organization, and the ability to anticipate needs and manage shifting priorities while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Document production and file management
- E-filing in federal and administrative courts
- Drafting, proofreading, and editing correspondence
- Client and court communications
- Legal calendaring and deadline management
- Managing multiple calendars, travel, and expense reimbursements
- Light office administrative support (supplies, coordination, general office tasks)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of law firm experience (supporting multiple attorneys preferred)
- Advanced Microsoft Word and Outlook skills; basic Excel
- Experience with ProLaw and Adobe Acrobat preferred
- Strong knowledge of court rules, procedures, and e-filing systems
- Excellent grammar, proofreading, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with legal billing
