About the position:

Join us! Allergy West is hiring a Full-time 30-40 hour Patient Service Representative to join our growing team! Seeking experienced individuals with a background working in a medical facility or private practice. This position requires flexibility. Reporting to the Practice Manager, this role serves as the first of contact between our patients and the practice supporting a large patient panel.

As a Patient Service Representative, you are charged with providing high quality customer service to our patients with a commitment to our values and mission.

Responsibilities:

• As a Patient Services Representative you assist patients by accurately verifying and updating demographics and insurance information, handling co-pays, scheduling, rescheduling and canceling appointments, checking patients in and out
• Customer service and patient satisfaction are key initiatives in this role
• Collect insurance copayments, patient balances, and explain insurance benefits
• Redirects calls as appropriate to meet patient needs
• Acts as liaison between patient, providers, billing, medical records, and management staff to ensure optimal patient service delivery
• Provides accurate information and guidance and attends to patient questions
• Ability to function independently with minimal supervision, and to plan, coordinate, and carry out those tasks necessary to meet the job responsibilities
• Processes confidential personal health information in accordance with FHCW HIPPA policies and procedures
• Maintain the presentation of the waiting areas
• Some evening shifts required/no weekends

Qualifications:

• High School / GED required; Associates degree is a bonus
• Medical background is a MUST
• EMR experience required
• EPIC experience is a plus
• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Professional phone and in-person presence
• Must have strong interpersonal and oral-communication skills
• Ready to be part of a patient-centric team
• Strong Problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail a must
• Collaborative
• Ability to multitask
• Have an eagerness to learn and grow
• Adaptable with a willingness to be flexible in the development of new methods of health service delivery
