Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify appointments, and manage check-in/check-out procedures with professionalism and efficiency. Provide superb customer service
- Collect patient information, update electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), and ensure accurate medical documentation
- Measure vital signs such as weight, height/ lenght, BMI, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; assist with patient intake processes
- Document current medications, allergies, reason for visit and other information in the electronic health record wth accuracy
- Prepare exam rooms, assist providers during clinic, and perform basic clinical tasks
- Support clinical staff with medical records management, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations
- Call in and/or send electronic prescription refills as directed
- Coordinate patient care by following up on lab results, ER visits, hospital admissions etc
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient correspondence, and follow-up communications to enhance patient experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas while adhering to infection control protocols
- Keep room stocked with supplies and notifies manager whwn supplies are low
Experience
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is required, prefrence within pediatrics or outpatient clinics
- Bilingual spanish and English is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and EMR/EHR systems
- Familiarity with outpatient workflows
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required to ensure readiness for emergency situations
