Captains provide a fun-filled and safe experience for our pedal tour groups (between 7 - 15 people). This job is a combination of tour guide, party-starter, attentive driver/safety coordinator, and being an all-around awesome person.
Our Captains come from all different professional backgrounds: actors, bartenders, servers, waiters, baristas, artists, assistants, college students, dog walkers, fitness trainers, instructors, musicians, photographers, students, teachers, tutors, and anyone looking for a fun, flexible job. If you are passionate about entertaining and showing people a great time, you might be a great fit!
It's also a great part-time gig, as we hire Captains who can work anywhere between 6 - 20 hrs / week. Most tours are on weekends (Fridays/Saturdays) but we also have tours afternoons/evenings during the week. And in addition to being a super-fun job, a talented Captain will find it very financially rewarding as well.

Responsibilities
- Lead guided bicycle tours, ensuring smooth navigation along designated routes while maintaining high energy and enthusiasm.
- Engage tour guests with compelling storytelling, local history, and interesting facts to enhance their experience.
- Manage tour group dynamics, ensuring all participants are safe, comfortable, and included throughout the journey.
- Conduct safety briefings before each tour, emphasizing safety protocols, laws and emergency procedures.
- Communicate effectively by adapting your presentation style to diverse audiences.
- Handle guest inquiries professionally, building rapport to foster a welcoming environment.
- Monitor outdoor conditions continuously, adjusting routes or plans as needed to prioritize safety and enjoyment.
Requirements
- Weekend availability is required
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing tour groups or guiding outdoor activities.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills to captivate diverse audiences.
- Previous outdoor work experience, especially in cycling or outdoor adventure settings preferred.
- Ability to manage time effectively during tours to ensure punctuality and smooth flow of activities.
- Passion for storytelling and creating memorable experiences through engaging tour guiding techniques.
