Role Description The Lead Budtender is a full-time, on-site role located in Albuquerque, NM, responsible for overseeing daily operations on the sales floor and ensuring a high-quality customer experience. This role includes guiding patients and customers through product selection, answering questions about strains, dosage, and consumption methods, and maintaining compliance with all state regulations and company policies. The Lead Budtender supports and mentors budtender team members, assists with training, and helps manage scheduling and workflow during shifts. Day-to-day tasks include processing transactions, verifying customer eligibility and identification, maintaining accurate records, and overseeing inventory counts, merchandising, and product displays. The role also involves handling customer concerns professionally, promoting company standards, and collaborating with management to achieve sales and service goals.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to explain products clearly and respectfully to diverse customers.
- Experience in retail or dispensary environments, with skills in cash handling, point-of-sale systems, and basic sales practices.
- Leadership capabilities, such as team guidance, mentoring, and supporting staff performance on the sales floor.
- Knowledge of cannabis products, strains, effects, dosing, and responsible consumption, or a demonstrated willingness to learn quickly.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in a cannabis dispensary, including ID verification and recordkeeping.
- Organizational skills to manage inventory, maintain clean and orderly displays, and support store operational efficiency.
- Ability to work on-site in Albuquerque, NM, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in retail, hospitality, or cannabis are a plus.
- Previous experience in a lead, supervisor, or keyholder role is preferred but not required.
