Job Summary:
The Lab Extractor is responsible for performing hydrocarbon (BHO) extraction processes, operating extraction equipment, maintaining accurate production records, and supporting post-processing activities. This position ensures all operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Functions/ Responsibilities
Extraction Operations
- Perform BHO extraction in accordance with established SOPs and safety protocols
- Operate extraction equipment including BHO systems, Pope equipment, and alternative systems (Jet Fueler or Stardust) as needed
- Pack material into extraction socks and prepare runs for processing
- Monitor extraction cycles to ensure optimal yield, quality, and safety
Documentation & Compliance
- Accurately log all BHO runs, including batch data, material input, and output results
- Maintain detailed records of sock packing and production activity
- Ensure all processes comply with state regulations and internal quality standards
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on BHO equipment
- Ensure proper cleaning, upkeep, and readiness of all extraction equipment
- Assist with preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime
Post-Processing Support
- Monitor, flip, and manage shatter during the purging process to ensure timely and consistent product quality
- Assist in accelerating production timelines through active oversight of post-extraction processes
Lab Maintenance & Sanitation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant lab environment at all times
- Wash and sanitize extraction socks after use
- Properly dispose of waste biomass at the end of each shift in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines
Qualifications
- Experience with BHO extraction and hydrocarbon systems preferred
- Knowledge of cannabis extraction processes, equipment, and safety protocols
- Ability to follow detailed SOPs and maintain accurate records
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume cultivation environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to clear a criminal background check within the scope of the job.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures, including the PVP Employee Handbook and QAQC Handbook.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Environmental, Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Follow all safety procedures related to hydrocarbon extraction and laboratory operations
- Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of materials and waste
- Immediately report any safety hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions
- Maintain compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations
