Position Summary
The Area Store Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple retail dispensary locations within the Albuquerque region, ensuring consistent execution of Pecos Valley Production’s operational, financial, compliance, and customer service standards. This role provides leadership and direction to Store Managers, ensuring alignment with company expectations related to sales performance, compliance, employee development, and brand execution.
The Area Store Manager serves as the regional extension of the Store Manager role, responsible for scaling the same operational standards across multiple locations while driving accountability, consistency, and performance improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Store Operations
· Ensure consistent execution of daily store operations across assigned locations
· Maintain compliance with all SOPs, opening/closing procedures, and operational checklists
· Conduct regular store walkthroughs to ensure cleanliness, organization, and brand standards
· Identify operational deficiencies and implement corrective action plans with Store Managers
· Ensure all locations are audit-ready at all times
2. Leadership & Team Management
· Directly supervise, coach, and develop Store Managers and Assistant Managers
· Ensure Store Managers are effectively executing all responsibilities outlined in their role
· Conduct performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and accountability meetings
· Support hiring, onboarding, training, and disciplinary processes in partnership with HR
· Develop leadership pipeline and ensure consistent management standards across stores
3. Sales Performance & KPI Management
· Drive achievement of store-level and regional sales goals
· Monitor and analyze key KPIs including:
o Sales revenue
o Average Transaction Value (ATV)
o Units Per Transaction (UPT)
o Labor efficiency
o Inventory performance
· Ensure Store Managers are actively managing daily sales performance
· Implement action plans to address underperforming locations
4. Customer Experience
· Ensure consistent execution of PVP customer service standards across all locations
· Monitor customer feedback, reviews, and complaint resolution processes
· Ensure Store Managers are actively coaching teams on customer engagement and upselling
· Maintain a consistent, high-quality retail experience across all Albuquerque stores
5. Inventory & Compliance
· Ensure compliance with all New Mexico cannabis regulations and METRC requirements
· Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution
· Ensure Store Managers maintain strict adherence to cash handling and security protocols
· Conduct compliance audits and ensure corrective actions are completed
· Maintain zero tolerance for regulatory violations or SOP breaches
6. Labor Management
· Ensure labor is managed efficiently within approved budgets across all locations
· Monitor scheduling, overtime usage, and labor-to-sales ratios
· Ensure accurate timekeeping, scheduling practices, and HR policy compliance
· Support Store Managers in workforce planning based on sales trends and demand
7. Marketing & Promotions Execution
· Ensure full execution of corporate promotions, product launches, and campaigns
· Confirm Store Managers are properly implementing marketing directives
· Oversee in-store merchandising, signage, and promotional compliance
· Support execution of vendor days, pop-ups, and local events
8. Social Media & Brand Consistency
· Ensure store-level participation in approved marketing and social media initiatives
· Ensure compliance with brand standards across all digital and in-store messaging
· Monitor local engagement trends and customer feedback signals
· Ensure Store Managers are aligned with corporate marketing direction
9. HR Compliance & Employee Relations
· Ensure consistent application of company policies across all locations
· Support Store Managers in addressing employee relations issues
· Ensure compliance with NM Healthy Workplace Act and leave policies
· Partner with HR on investigations, corrective actions, and documentation
· Monitor turnover trends and retention challenges
10. Communication & Reporting
· Ensure Store Managers are completing required reporting accurately and on time
· Provide weekly and monthly performance updates to senior leadership
· Communicate corporate initiatives and ensure execution across all stores
· Maintain alignment between executive leadership and store-level operations

· Store and regional sales performance
· ATV, UPT, and revenue growth
· Compliance audit scores (METRC and internal audits)
· Inventory accuracy and shrink reduction

Qualifications
· 3–5 years of retail management experience (multi-unit preferred)
· Experience in cannabis or regulated retail strongly preferred
· Proven success managing Store Manager-level responsibilities or equivalent
· Strong understanding of retail KPIs, inventory systems, and labor management
· Experience driving sales and operational performance in a retail environment
· Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills
Physical Requirements
· Ability to travel frequently between Albuquerque-area retail locations
· Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout store environments for extended periods
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Work Environment
· Fast-paced retail cannabis environment
· Requires flexibility including evenings, weekends, and peak retail periods

Key Alignment Note
This Area Store Manager role is intentionally structured as an extension of the Store Manager position, not a separate operational model. All Store Manager duties remain foundational and are expected to be executed consistently across all locations, with the Area Store Manager responsible for oversight, accountability, and regional execution.
Pay: $48,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
