What are the responsibilities and job description for the Feed Mill Manager position at Peco Foods?
The Feed Mill Manager is responsible for producing and delivering quality feed at a competitive cost.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise a team of 12 employees.
- Receive all ingredients properly, using correct testing methods/standards, and rejecting ingredients that do not meet Peco standards.
- Maintain accurate inventories of all ingredients and finished food.
- Manufacture feed properly, keeping feed separate through sequencing, use of proper bins, and proper load-out procedures.
- Have all employees and drivers participate in the company safety program.
- Supervise a delivery operation that maintains adequate farm inventories and utilizes service techs for final loads.
- Follow al FDA regulations.
- Ensure drivers follow hours of service rules and all other DOT regulations.
- Maintain the company facilities and fleet through proper preventative maintenance. Maintain cleanliness of grounds, mill, and fleet.
- Responsible for all animal welfare and biosecurity training and compliance in the feed mill department.
- Handle and ensure all employees handle various chemicals, vaccines and medications safely.
- Maintain adequate staffing.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable government agencies and regulations.
Physical Demands:
- Working in normal room environment, outside environment, and in cold, hot, humid and dusty conditions.
- Lifting various weights on an as needed basis.
- Physically able to climb a ladder at various heights.
