What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal – Full-Time position at Peck Baxter Watkins & Bailey?
About Us
We’re a plaintiff’s trial firm that helps people navigate some of the hardest challenges they’ll face. Our cases are serious, but our culture is supportive and collaborative. We value teamwork, honesty, and reliability — and we look out for each other the same way we look out for our clients.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Litigation Paralegal who is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow. Experience is helpful but not required — we’re happy to train the right person. What matters most is your mindset: curiosity, initiative, and a genuine desire to figure things out and make things happen.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy problem-solving, and want to be part of a team that values both excellence and humanity, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
- Support attorneys from case intake through trial — organizing files, managing discovery, and tracking deadlines.
- Draft and proofread pleadings, correspondence, and case documents.
- Communicate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and the courts.
- Prepare exhibits, mediation binders, and trial notebooks.
- Schedule depositions, hearings, and client meetings.
- Maintain accurate data in our internal case management system.
- Learn new skills, take ownership of your work, and grow within the firm.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to stay organized and manage competing priorities.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and general computer literacy.
- A self-starter who takes initiative, solves problems, and asks good questions.
- A collaborative teammate with a positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn — and to be part of something bigger than yourself.
Preferred but Not Required
- Prior legal or paralegal experience.
- Paralegal degree or certificate.
- Spanish language skills.
Compensation & Growth
Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer a supportive environment with hands-on training, mentorship, and long-term growth for the right person. Many of our best paralegals started here with no experience — just drive, intelligence, and heart.
