Purpose



The Pearson English Language Learning Sales Representative is a field-based, hunter-style role focused on driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and increasing adoption of Pearson’s digital ELL solutions. You will uncover new opportunities, acquire and develop new accounts, and grow long-term partnerships by positioning Pearson as a trusted, strategic partner.



This role is ideal for a highly motivated, goal-driven sales professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys prospecting and relationship-building, and is comfortable working toward ambitious growth targets. You bring curiosity, resilience, and a customer-first mindset, using strong discovery skills and portfolio knowledge to solve real instructional challenges and improve learner outcomes.



Key Accountabilities



Success in this role is measured by your ability to:



  • Consistently achieve or exceed territory revenue and growth targets by offering course-based solutions to decision makers, thereby gaining market share.


  • Identify, acquire, and develop new accounts to expand Pearson’s ELL footprint.


  • Drive adoption of digital & print solutions that improve outcomes, access, and affordability.


  • Grow and retain key accounts through strategic relationship management.


  • Maintain & deliver accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and territory planning in Salesforce (OneCRM).


  • Execute corporate and regional sales initiatives with measurable impact.


  • Share market insights and best practices to support team and regional success.


  • Establish yourself as a trusted, growth-focused sales advisor to customers.


The Role



This is a remote/home-based position with approximately 65% travel, including but not limited to visits to local college and university campuses, private language schools, community-based organizations, conferences, and national meetings. Please note that we do not offer relocation packages for this position. The ideal candidate should be based within the state of Massachusetts or Connecticut.



Key Responsibilities



In this role, you will:



  • Use a mix of in-person and virtual outreach to engage 15 faculty members or decision-makers daily.


  • Proactively prospect and pursue new business opportunities with a hunter mindset.


  • Strategically plan and manage territory and accounts to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth.


  • Present, sell, and negotiate Pearson’s digital English Language Learning solutions in both virtual and face-to-face settings.


  • Deliver product demonstrations, onboarding, and training to support long-term customer adoption.


  • Manage pipeline, forecasting, and activity tracking using Salesforce (OneCRM)


  • Stay current on Pearson products, platforms, and trends in the English Language Learning market.


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with teachers, administrators, and bookstore partners.


  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Success, product specialists, marketing, and sales leadership.


  • Execute national and regional sales initiatives within your local market.


  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing sales culture through knowledge sharing and best practices.

Qualifications



To embark on this journey, you should bring:



  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and successful work experience.


  • Minimum 2 years of outstanding sales experience in adult education, higher education, or a related market.


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, computer applications, CRM and business systems, and mobile technologies.


  • Willingness to travel 3-4 days per week and attend regional and national conferences and events.


  • Reside in the state of Massachusetts or Connecticut .


  • Valid driver’s license.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by factors including skill set, experience, and location.



The full-time salary range for this role is $65,000 – $70,000.
