Augusta Landworks is seeking one experienced Heavy Equipment Operator / Site Development Technician to become a key member of our growing company.
We specialize in tree removal, stump grinding, excavation, grading, utility installation, forestry mulching, bush hogging, gravel driveway construction, and site development. We are looking for someone who can work independently, produce quality work, and take pride in every project.
This is not an entry-level position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate excavators, skid steers, compact track loaders, tractors, and other construction equipment
- Perform rough and finish grading
- Read and establish grades using rotary lasers and laser receivers
- Excavate for residential and commercial projects
- Install water, sewer, and storm drainage systems
- Install gravel driveways, private roads, and parking areas
- Perform trenching, backfilling, and site preparation
- Assist with tree removal and stump grinding
- Operate forestry mulchers and bush hogs
- Load, transport, and secure equipment and materials
- Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have experience with:
- Heavy equipment operation
- Rough and finish grading
- Laser grading and elevation control
- Excavation
- Water, sewer, and storm drainage installation
- Skid steers and excavators
- Reading construction plans and grade stakes
- Working independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Tree removal
- Stump grinding
- Forestry mulching
- Bush hogging
- Gravel installation
- CDL
