Please read must pay for 25 dollar background check. We are seeking a dedicated and energetic DPS PRN (Driver Per Diem/As Needed) to join our transportation team. In this vital role, you will provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for various client populations, including children, seniors, and individuals requiring specialized care. As a DPS PRN, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies while delivering exceptional customer service. Your proactive approach and strong driving skills will help us maintain our commitment to safety and quality transportation.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate vehicles including school buses, paratransit vans, and other commercial transportation vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and company policies
• Respond quickly to changing traffic conditions and adapt routes as necessary to ensure timely arrivals and departures
• Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing support for individuals with mobility challenges or special needs
• Maintain a clean, well-functioning vehicle by conducting regular inspections and basic mechanical checks
• Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid when needed
• Communicate effectively with passengers, team members, and dispatchers using clear language in English or bilingual communication skills
• Adhere to all vehicle codes, school policies, child safety regulations, and behavior management protocols to ensure passenger safety at all times

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in bus driving or commercial driving preferred
• Knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, emergency stop procedures, and vehicle codes
• Certification in first aid and CPR required; additional emergency response training is a plus
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for passenger assistance or vehicle maintenance tasks
• Experience working with children or seniors is highly desirable; excellent communication skills essential
• Mechanical knowledge of vehicle operation and basic troubleshooting skills preferred
• Multilingual abilities or experience working with diverse populations are advantageous
• Strong behavior management skills to handle passenger interactions professionally and calmly
