Duties
- Provide individualized support to residents, focusing on their unique needs and preferences
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Monitor and record vital signs, medication administration, and health status updates
- Support residents with memory care techniques and dementia-related behaviors using approved strategies
- Engage residents in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment through regular cleaning and manual handling practices
- Communicate effectively with residents’ families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure coordinated care
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or residential care homes preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia management, and memory care techniques
- Ability to assist with ADLs and perform safe patient lifting practices including heavy lifting when necessary
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications in medication administration or behavioral management are advantageous
- Experience working with individuals with developmental or cognitive disabilities preferred
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating standard passenger cars for community outings or appointments
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving and client communication
