Pearl's is a small scratch kitchen and market in Valle Crucis, right beside the Original Mast General Store. We make everything in-house from biscuits, pimento cheese, soups, chow-chow, dressings to baked goods, and source from North Carolina farms and makers wherever we can. We're hiring a cook for the summer season, with room to stay on past it for the right person.

What the job actually is:

• Working a prep station and sandwich line during service. We're a hoodless kitchen, so no fryer, no grease trap, just farm fresh ingredients turned into sandwiches, salads and soups
• Daily prep from scratch recipes: sauces, spreads, sides, and baked items that go on the menu and onto our market shelves
• Keeping your station clean, labeled, and organized. We take food safety seriously and follow written recipes and pars
• Receiving and checking in orders from our vendors, many of them local farms
• Pitching in wherever the day needs it . We're a small team and everyone helps out

What we're looking for:

• Kitchen experience preferred, but we'll train someone with the right attitude and work ethic
• Someone who reads a recipe, follows it, and speaks up when something's off
• Reliable, on time, and steady when it gets busy
• Someone who loves good food

The practical stuff:

• Pay based on experience. We'll tell you the number in the interview, not dance around it
• Daytime hours — no late nights; kitchen wraps by 3-4 pm most days
• Looking for availability any day, including weekends
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for a full shift
