Senior HVAC Service Technician & Comfort Advisor (Houston, TX)
Position Summary
$24-26 hourly rate bonus and commission
The Senior HVAC Service Technician & Field Sales Lead is a hybrid role combining technical expertise, sales ability, and leadership. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality residential HVAC service while supporting revenue growth and team development in a newly established Houston market.
This role requires an experienced technician capable of diagnosing and resolving most residential HVAC issues, along with strong consultative sales skills to recommend repairs, upgrades, and full system replacements. As a foundational hire in a new market, this individual must be self-motivated, able to work independently, represent the company professionally, and help build the Houston operation from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Residential HVAC Service & Diagnostics
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of residential HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heat pumps, and furnaces
- Identify root causes of system issues and recommend effective repair or replacement solutions
- Complete service calls with a high level of technical accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and local codes
Sales, Repairs & System Replacement Consulting
- Serve as a selling technician, presenting repair, upgrade, and replacement options directly to homeowners
- Conduct in-home consultations using a “good, better, best” solution approach
- Identify opportunities for full system replacement based on system age, condition, and performance
- Prepare, present, and close estimates for repairs, upgrades, and system replacements
Leadership & Market Development
- Grow into the lead technician role for the Houston market, setting standards for quality and professionalism
- Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring new technicians
- Provide field-level technical support and guidance to team members
- Act as a liaison between field operations and company leadership
Operational Responsibilities
- Coordinate with corporate leadership and support teams (CSR, dispatch, and installation teams) to manage service routes, scheduling, and priorities
- Maintain service vehicles, tools, and inventory in accordance with company standards
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, office staff, and leadership
Requirements & Qualifications
- 5 years of residential HVAC service experience with strong diagnostic skills
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Proven track record in selling repairs, upgrades, and system replacements
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Self-starter with leadership potential
- EPA Section 608 Certification and applicable HVAC licenses preferred
- Experience with CRM systems such as ServiceTitan
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- TDLR registration
