As our People Operations Business Partner, you’ll blend recruiting savvy, employee experience design, and hands-on HR operations to build a high-performing, people-first culture—onsite in Jasper, Indiana.
Impact You’ll Make
- Recruitment Leadership: Full-cycle hiring for U.S. roles; align with hiring managers to scope roles, source talent, and close offers.
- Hiring Compliance: Coordinate background checks and employment verifications.
- Onboarding Excellence: Deliver orientations that inform, connect, and inspire new hires.
- People Programs: Support benefits, leave administration, recognition, and engagement initiatives.
- Compliance Stewardship: Maintain adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
- Payroll Partnership: Review weekly payroll for accuracy; collaborate with U.S./Canada payroll teams and act as backup processor.
- Thoughtful Transitions: Manage offboarding, run exit interviews, and synthesize insights.
- Insights & Analytics: Track talent metrics to inform decisions and demonstrate ROI.
- Safety Collaboration: Partner with Operations on safety reviews and incident follow-ups.
- Community Presence: Coordinate outreach and local events to strengthen our employer brand.
- Manager Enablement: Support employee relations and performance management.
- Employee Advocacy: Respond quickly to employee questions; promote a supportive environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in recruiting and talent operations.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Working knowledge of employment regulations and HR best practices.
- High discretion with sensitive information; detail-obsessed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–5 years in HR, Talent Operations, or Recruiting.
- Solid understanding of employment law and HR practices.
- Full-cycle recruiting and onboarding experience.
- HRIS and payroll familiarity (multi-state and/or Canada a plus; Dayforce a plus).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving.
- Professionalism with confidential data.
- Organized and able to manage competing deadlines.
- Background in employee relations and performance management.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; HR analytics/reporting tools a plus.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent preferred (not required).
