Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and career-driven Assistant Project Manager / Estimator to join a growing commercial roofing company near Columbus, Ohio. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop a long-term career in commercial roofing, project management, and estimating.
The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, highly organized, and capable of supporting multiple aspects of roofing operations, including estimating, purchasing, project coordination, and field support. Recent graduates with Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, or related degrees are encouraged to apply.
This position is approximately 85% office-based and 15% field-based.
Responsibilities
- Assist with project submittals and closeout documentation
- Support estimating efforts, including quantity takeoffs and bid preparation
- Assist with purchasing materials and coordinating deliveries
- Track project schedules, budgets, and job progress
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, vendors, and subcontractors
- Participate in project meetings and client communications
- Visit job sites periodically to monitor progress and gain field experience
- Assist with change orders, RFIs, and project documentation
- Maintain organized project files and records
- Learn all aspects of commercial roofing project management and operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
- Recent graduates encouraged to apply
- Previous construction, roofing, internship, or project coordination experience is a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to local job sites as needed
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $70,000 – $80,000
