Major Duties
- Maintain and update GIS data layers to support public health initiatives and operational projects, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Develop and manage GIS applications and interactive dashboards, including real-time respiratory illness dashboards to monitor trends and inform public health decisions.
- Perform spatial and geospatial analyses to guide data-driven decision-making for public health projects and emergency response efforts.
- Create high-quality maps, visualizations, and reports, supporting both internal stakeholders and public-facing platforms.
- Design and produce maps illustrating public health regions, counties, healthcare facility locations, and population estimates to assist with resource planning and interventions.
- Develop interactive dashboards and data visualizations to track health metrics, trends, and resource allocation for public health and local leadership.
- Respond to new project requests, prioritize tasks, and deliver results within deadlines while supporting ongoing public health initiatives.
- Troubleshoot GIS data, software, and application issues to maintain smooth workflow operations.
- Publish reports and surveillance summaries to provide insights into the prevalence and spread of respiratory viruses and other health concerns.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions, contributing to knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Public Health, or related field preferred.
- Proficient in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise Portal .
- Experience with ArcGIS Experience Builder (required).
- Python scripting (preferred) for automation or analysis tasks.
- Experience with ArcGISHUB , ArcGIS Business Analyst, ArcGIS StoryMaps , and ArcGIS Survey 123 preferred
- Ability to manage, update, and maintain GIS data layers.
- Strong understanding about spatial analysis, mapping, and visualization best practices.
- Knowledge of evaluation and measurement concepts and methods and their application to geospatial analysis.
- Experience with database concepts (table design, relationships, indexing strategies and normalization)
- Knowledge of Java, VBScript, and JavaScript
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to respond to project requests quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
- Effective time management to meet deadlines on multiple projects.
- Rate: $ 57.00 /hour
- Length of Engagement: 4 months
- Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
