Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and other hand or power tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and schematics to determine project specifications and color schemes
- Perform detailed work such as caulking, trim carpentry, plastering, stucco application, and fixture installation to enhance surface durability and aesthetics
- Assist with renovation projects by performing demolition, framing, drywall installation, masonry work, or concrete finishing as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, disposing of waste properly, and ensuring safety protocols are followed on-site
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while adhering to safety standards and quality expectations
Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and blueprint reading for accurate project execution
- Proficiency with hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, putty knives, and caulking guns; familiarity with power tools including drills and sanders
- Experience in residential painting, commercial painting, industrial painting, or construction site environments
- Understanding of color theory to select appropriate hues for various surfaces and design schemes
- Skilled in surface preparation techniques like sanding, plastering, stucco application, masonry work, and concrete finishing
- Ability to read schematics and schematics related to fixture installation or renovation plans
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for precise work; carpentry skills including framing and trim carpentry are a plus
- Knowledge of maintenance tasks related to building upkeep; handyman experience is advantageous
- Experience with welding or airless paint spraying is beneficial but not mandatory
