School-Based Licensed Clinician Job Summary:

Looking for a school-based clinician to work with adolescent aged students and their families for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is grant funded.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Therapists are responsible for counseling individuals, groups, or families to diagnose and treat mental health disorders. This includes recording the clients progress in treatment and creating a safe environment for clients per the ethics outlined by their professional license.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality therapeutic care that is appropriate to the age, diagnosis, developmental state, and mental status of individuals, families, and groups as assigned to caseload.
  • Assess the client’s strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences; formulate a diagnostic impression based on current DSM criteria; and, in conjunction with the client, develop an individualized person-centered treatment plan.
  • Diagnose and treat mental health disorders through research driven interventions.
  • Create a treatment plan based on each client's needs.
  • Maintain documentation of all client charts as the primary responsible party.
  • Document services no later than 24 hours after service; actual start and duration as well as coding to be updated immediately following the service.
  • Facilitate sessions with individuals, groups, or families.
  • Refer clients to specialists or community resources as necessary.
  • Monitor client progress during treatment.
  • Support community relations and collaborative efforts with stakeholders to include schools.
  • Serve as a representative of the agency and support maintaining ethics standards as outlined by licensing boards and COMAR.
  • Attend agency identified evidence based practices trainings and ensure compliance to protocols.
  • Ensure quality treatment of patients through warm interaction and strengths-based approach.
  • Responsible to gather school data and develop reports as requested by the state and school system.
  • Maintain collaboration as the point person for the client’s treatment team.
  • Build relationships in hosting schools and abide by school rules.
  • Ability to design and train parents and educational staff about mental health topics.
  • Attend regularly scheduled supervision and prepare relevant case presentations, specific questions, ethical dilemmas, concerns, etc. to discuss with the direct supervisor.
  • Possess and apply time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to actively listen.
  • Solid relationship-building capabilities.
  • Respond in a positive manner to changing situations or routines, manage yourself, and maintain a calm environment in crises.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Comfortable using technology for Electronic Health Records (EHR) and telehealth services.
  • Follow all HIPAA compliance and confidentiality policies and procedures in all areas of work in accordance with applicable laws and agency policies.
  • Flexibility to see client in evening hours in office, homes, community, or via telehealth as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field
  • Licensed as a LGPC, LMSW. LGMFT
  • Follow standards of Confidentiality.
  • Meet all necessary state licensure requirements and maintain licensure.
  • Maintain good standing with the governing entity and ethics board.

This is a grant funded position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
