What are the responsibilities and job description for the Duckmaster (On Call) position at PEABODY MANAGEMENT INC?
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas, including Duck Palace and Fountain.
- Train additional Duckmaster staff. Provide ongoing coaching opportunities to ensure development of Assistant Duckmasters. Assist departmental mentors in ongoing training programs.
- Review hotel activity: attend pre-convention, planning and staff meetings as needed.
- Always maintain positive guest relations.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Able to perform responsibilities of Public Relations and Guest Services in their absence.
- Augment existing staffing levels as needed to facilitate daily operations.
- Assist Director of Marketing – Communications and VP Brand Development in creating budgets related to the needs of the Peabody Ducks.
- Answer the telephone consistently with hotel telephone etiquette standards.
- Foster and promote a cooperative work environment, maximizing productivity and associate morale.
- Able to travel out of state for Public Relations ventures.
- Act as hotel ambassador, engaging with guests/visitors within hotel daily, and locally and internationally via community and media appearances.
- Conduct presentations, group, and media tours.
- Conduct media interviews about Peabody Ducks and Peabody history. Work with Public Relations on filming/photoshoots of Duck March.
- Responsible for all aspects of care, maintenance, and safety of the Peabody Ducks both on and off property. Able to maintain consistent daily schedule of Peabody Ducks.
- Able to learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of Peabody and Memphis history, conduct daily Hotel History Tours. Curate hotel’s Memorabilia Room.
- Coordinate community relations efforts on behalf of the Peabody Ducks to include local school visits.
