Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments within internal medicine clinics.
- Take and record accurate vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical history, medication lists, and ICD coding.
- Facilitate communication between patients and providers by answering questions regarding medications, procedures, or follow-up care.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in internal medicine or related specialties such as geriatrics or medical-surgical care.
- Knowledge ofpharmacology, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient care and documentation.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EHR systems) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EMR systems).
- Experience working in hospital settings, Level I Trauma Centers, or clinics providing inpatient or outpatient care is highly desirable.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
- Ability to perform intake assessments, vital signs collection, and basic clinical procedures efficiently.
