Location: Indianapolis, IN | Pay rate : $55–$62.50 | Schedule: Must be flexible; this is a 24/7 operation

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global leader in innovative medicine to find a Materials Planning & Supplier Operations Manager who will play a mission-critical role in ensuring uninterrupted manufacturing operations at a cutting-edge pharmaceutical production campus in Indianapolis.
In this high-impact leadership role, you’ll oversee end-to-end materials planning, procurement execution, supplier performance, inventory optimization, and CAPEX sourcing—helping deliver life-changing therapies to patients worldwide.
What You’ll Do
Materials Planning & MRP Leadership
Own site-level materials planning execution and MRP governance across manufacturing operations
Drive exception-based planning strategies that reduce reactive purchasing and planning instability
Lead root-cause investigations into material shortages, supplier constraints, and production disruptions
Partner with Production Planning teams to ensure material readiness supports executable manufacturing schedules
Procurement & CAPEX Operations
Lead end-to-end procurement execution for:
Direct and indirect production materials
Site-based operational services
Capital equipment and infrastructure investments (CAPEX)
Ensure compliance with global sourcing strategies, procurement governance, and financial controls
Oversee CAPEX sourcing prioritization aligned with project timelines and technical requirements
Directly manage and mentor a dedicated CAPEX Buyer
Supplier Performance & Risk Management
Manage supplier performance related to delivery reliability, responsiveness, and issue resolution
Identify and mitigate supply, capacity, and commercial risks impacting operations
Drive corrective actions with suppliers and cross-functional partners including Engineering, Quality, and Global Procurement
Inventory & Operational Excellence
Manage inventory health including excess, obsolete, blocked, and slow-moving materials
Define safety stock and coverage strategies aligned with operational risk profiles
Support working capital optimization while safeguarding production continuity
Establish KPIs, governance standards, and continuous improvement initiatives across planning and procurement functions
Cross-Functional Leadership
Serve as the site lead for material readiness and procurement performance discussions
Contribute strategic input to S&OP and operational risk planning
Build organizational capability through coaching, process discipline, and structured problem-solving
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
5 years of progressive experience in materials planning and procurement within pharmaceutical manufacturing operations
Strong expertise in:
MRP and materials planning
Procurement execution
Supplier performance management
Inventory optimization
Experience working in GMP-regulated manufacturing environments
SAP MM/PP and ERP systems proficiency (D365 experience is a plus)
Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to perform effectively under operational pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
English fluency required
Preferred Qualifications
CPIM, CSCP, PMP certification and/or MBA
Experience in nuclear medicine or highly regulated manufacturing industries
Exposure to capital project environments and CAPEX sourcing
Experience supporting multiple manufacturing technologies
Participation in operational transformation or site growth initiatives
Work Environment & Flexibility
This is a full-time 40-hour/week role supporting a 24/7 pharmaceutical manufacturing operation. Flexibility is required to support business-critical activities across a continuous production environment.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $62.50 per hour
