Role Overview
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Airframe Stress Analysis Engineer to support a premier aerospace leader at its Washington Design Center in Puyallup, WA.
In this full-time, 9-month consulting role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the structural integrity of next-generation aircraft. Your expertise will help guarantee that airframes can withstand every phase of flight—from routine operations to extreme conditions—while meeting the highest standards of safety, durability, and regulatory compliance.
This is a first-shift position (7:30 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Friday) offering a competitive pay starting at $68.23 per hour.

This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Pay Details: $68.23 per hour

What You’ll Do
As an Airframe Stress Analysis Engineer, you will apply advanced engineering principles to ensure aircraft structures are safe, reliable, and flight-ready throughout their lifecycle.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Coordinating with cross-functional engineering teams to define aircraft structural environments
- Performing structural analysis using advanced analytical methods, finite element models, and simulation tools
- Evaluating metallic and/or composite structures for strength, durability, damage tolerance, and fail-safety
- Supporting aircraft design validation from concept through certification and production phases
- Documenting certification and test results to support customer and regulatory compliance requirements
- Ensuring structural performance meets all engineering and airworthiness standards
- Working independently with minimal supervision while delivering high-quality technical solutions
- Contributing to wing and airframe structural analysis commodities and related systems
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Civil, or Structural Engineering
- 8 years of experience in aircraft stress analysis
- Strong understanding of airplane structural analysis methods and tools
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), simulations, and structural modeling
- Ability to evaluate structural integrity across full product lifecycle
- Familiarity with certification processes and regulatory documentation
- Education/experience equivalency may include advanced degrees with fewer years of experience
- Experience with both metallic and composite aircraft structures
- Background in wing structures or related airframe commodities
- Advanced technical degree (Master’s or PhD in engineering or related field)
- Experience working in highly regulated aerospace environments
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional engineering collaboration
