In this role, you will bridge technical expertise with project execution—guiding cross-functional teams, managing complex work statements, and ensuring successful delivery of mission-critical aerospace programs.

Role Details

• Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-month assignment)
• Location: St. Charles, MO
• Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st Shift (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
• Pay Rate: Starting at $65.45 per hour
  
  

What You’ll Do

As a Project Engineer, you will:

• Provide engineering leadership to cross-functional teams, including internal and external stakeholders
• Develop and manage Statements of Work (SOW) to support R&D, new business, and ongoing programs
• Collaborate with customers and leadership to define scope, deliverables, and approvals
• Evaluate and respond to changes in project scope, assessing impact to cost, schedule, and resources
• Lead project execution, ensuring alignment with technical and business objectives
• Define and monitor performance metrics to track progress and efficiency
• Plan and coordinate resources across the full project lifecycle
• Identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies
• Analyze actual performance against plans to drive continuous improvement and lessons learned
• Deliver presentations and reports to senior and executive leadership
• Support program success through data-driven decision making and reporting tools
  
  

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
• 4 years of related experience in production or systems engineering
• 3 years leading cross-functional teams or projects (formal or informal leadership)
• 4 years of experience using project management tools
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including:
• Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros)
• PowerPoint for executive-level presentations
• Experience developing metrics and dashboards using Tableau or Power BI
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
• Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Project Management Certification (PMP)
• Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt)
• Experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
• Familiarity with DoD contracts
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM/CAM)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project or Planner

Pay Details: $65.45 per hour
