Hours: M-F 1pm-9:30pm
Rate: $22-25/hr
Responsibilities:
- Learn and comply with the safety procedures, regulations and policies of each spray drying area.
- Notify leads, supervisors, or manager of safety incidents, and risks.
- Record any quality deviations, and notify the lead, supervisor, or manager.
- Assist in Root Cause analysis for quality deviations.
- Understand and comply with the Spray Dry HACCP program.
- Conduct routine quality checks (such as sieve, magnet, basket filters).
- Maintain accurate and consistent records of product run information.
- Assist in root cause investigations.
- Batching.
- Ingredient BOM and the basics of product families.
- Order of addition.
- Mix time and agitation requirements.
- Heat effects on batching.
- Responsible for product quality conforming to specification by following formula instructions, department procedures, and training. Productivity expectations are to be met while diligently following all safety procedures.
- Ensuring the dryer is clean prior to product run.
- Making product batch if required, according to the designated specifications of product recipe.
- Start-up of product run.
- Checking dryer performance indicators to make sure product is running according to expected output.
- Packaging product as it is dispensed, into the correct container type.
- Ensuring that the correct labeling is applied to packaging.
- Preparing the CIP equipment to adequately clean the dryer.
- Run the CIP equipment.
- Prepare the dryer for the next product run.
- Maintaining a clean dryer room and following all GMP requirements.
- Understand the Z2 notification process.
- Understand and verify in-process quality checks.
- Understand spray dry quality programs and comply with procedures, and regulations.
Requirements:
- GED or higher with 2 years of experience.
- Understand the principles, effects, and impact on product of the six key areas of spray drying: batching, atomization, agglomeration, powder conveying, packaging, and cleaning.
- Lock-out/Tag-out procedure, grounding, handling of caustic material, proper lifting techniques, explosion suppression, and usage of respirators and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
