What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floor Technician *Lafayette Area position at PCMS?
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of floors in various medical facilities throughout the Acadiana area. The ideal candidate will have experience with floor care equipment and techniques, and be able to travel between multiple locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in hallways, exam rooms, waiting areas, and other facility spaces
- Operate buffers, scrubbers, and other floor care equipment to maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Perform floor stripping and waxing as needed (preferred, not required)
- Follow proper infection control protocols and cleaning procedures specific to medical environments
- Ensure all work areas are left clean, safe, and free of hazards
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and team leads
- Maintain equipment and report any maintenance needs
- Travel between assigned facilities in the Acadiana region )
Qualifications:
- Prior floor care experience required (sweeping, mopping, buffing)
- Experience with stripping and waxing floors preferred
- Ability to work independently and follow written/verbal instructions
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to multiple locations
- Availability to work evenings, nights, or weekends as needed
- Must pass background check and comply with health and safety regulations of medical facilities
