Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design & Illustration
- Create high-quality illustrations, graphics, and visual assets to support Space Force communication, training, and mission-related initiatives.
- Develop original artwork, including vector graphics, character designs, technical illustrations, infographics, and branding elements.
- Produce digital and print-ready materials such as posters, brochures, briefing graphics, logos, signage, and presentation visuals.
- Translate verbal concepts, written requirements, and technical information into clear, engaging visual products.
- Maintain consistency with Space Force branding guidelines, security requirements, and visual communication standards.
- Collaborate with photographers and multimedia specialists to integrate graphics into broader digital media products.
- Prepare artwork for use in video, web, social media, and interactive platforms.
- Assist in layout, formatting, and visual enhancement of documents, reports, and presentations.
- Support the development of motion graphics or animation elements when required (basic proficiency acceptable; advanced skills a plus).
- Work directly with Space Force personnel and internal team members to gather requirements, refine concepts, and deliver final products.
- Manage multiple design requests simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
- Provide creative recommendations and visual solutions that align with mission objectives and customer expectations.
- Maintain organized project files, version control, and documentation in accordance with contract requirements.
- 3–5 years of professional experience as an illustrator, graphic designer, or visual artist.
- Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other digital illustration platforms.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating illustration skills, design versatility, and creative problem-solving.
- Ability to work within established brand guidelines and adapt to evolving mission needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred education: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Fine Arts, Visual Communications, or a related field.
- Experience supporting government, military, or defense-related clients.
- Familiarity with secure production environments and handling of controlled or sensitive materials.
- Knowledge of layout design, typography, color theory, and visual storytelling.
- Basic understanding of multimedia workflows, including photography, videography, and motion graphics.
- Ability to adapt artwork for multiple formats, resolutions, and media types.
