Position Summary
The Residential Program Supervisor, referred to internally at PCGH as a Program Coordinator or Direct Support Professional III, provides hands-on leadership in one or more community residential programs serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and/or traumatic brain injury (TBI). This role supports safe, person-centered services by coaching and supervising Direct Support Professionals, keeping schedules and staffing coverage solid, coordinating key daily operations, and helping ensure each person’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and medical orders are followed.
What You’ll DoPerson-Centered Supports and Service Oversight
- Help implement and monitor each person’s ISP, including active treatment goals and daily supports
- Promote choice, independence, community participation, and relationship-building
- Support dignity of risk while reducing vulnerability in identified areas
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings as assigned
Health and Safety Coordination
- Help ensure medical orders are followed as written
- Coordinate appointments and attend major appointments as assigned
- Communicate important changes to appropriate staff and, when directed, to families/guardians
Staff Leadership, Training, and Scheduling
- Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and accountability for DSP staff assigned to the home/program
- Ensure schedules are filled, coverage is maintained, and required staff-to-person ratios are met
- Help train staff and support completion of required Medicaid and State Funded training requirements
- Assist with interviewing and making hiring recommendations
- Follow agency policies and procedures, including documentation and the progressive discipline process when needed
- Coordinate and document staff meetings as assigned
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation per program requirements
- Ensure consents, disclosures, and required documents are current
- Participate in Quarterly Medication Reviews (QMRs) and Human Rights Committee activities as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality and communicate in a professional, respectful manner
Operational Support
- Monitor program budgets and consumer funds (as assigned) and complete required reviews/tracking
- Assist with monthly data review and basic analysis
- Participate in management meetings as assigned
- Full-time position with flexibility required
- Occasional evenings and weekends based on program needs
Rotating weekend on-call coverage, typically one weekend every 8 to 10 weeks
Required
- Experience providing direct support in a residential or community-based setting (adults with IDD/TBI or similar human services)
- Demonstrated an ability to lead staff, manage priorities, and follow through with minimal supervision
- Proven to exhibit professionalism and steady judgment while finding a solutions-focused approach, even and especially in high-stress situations
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations professionally
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving requirements
Preferred
- Experience with person-centered planning and ISP implementation
- Experience coordinating staffing coverage, schedules, and training in a group home setting
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted
- Ability to assist with transfers of individuals weighing up to 250 pounds (with appropriate support/equipment as applicable)
