Position: STAFF Accountant
Work Location: On Site – Sugar Land, Texas with consideration for a hybrid schedule after the initial 90 days.

Planned Community Developers Ltd. (PCD) is expanding our team as we focus on the next development opportunities in Sugar Land and in communities beyond. The Staff Accountant shall have the core responsibility of financial oversight and accounting transactions.
The core competencies include critical thinking, problem-solving and communication. In addition, this role requires understanding of accounting procedure(s), financial reporting and specific process experience in general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management.
This is a position that has potential for career development and growth is encouraged. Strong preference given to applicants with Sage software experience.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Minimum education: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or 2 - 4 year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be proficient in Office 365 with a minimum of advanced level for Microsoft Excel, Word and Teams.
- Able to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
- Experience with accounting software such as Sage, Avid and/or Kardin strongly preferred.
Skills Required:
- Able to manage the corporate reporting calendar, coordinate team member deliverables and produce reports in a timely manner.
- Experience in commercial real estate, finance or accounting.
- Strong customer service skills, especially when dealing with stakeholders, consultants and real estate professionals.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and prioritize deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review and analyze fimancials and budgets
- Prepare journal entries, monthly accruals and re-classes, monthly account reconciliations
- Process and apply cash receipts to tenant and customer accounts
- General Ledger maintenance
- Experience and understanding of lease administration
- Manage annual AVT process
- Complete bank reconciliations and approved wire distributions
- Process weekly payables in Avid
- Job cost tracking for development projects
- Serves as liaison to external clients and auditors by explaining journal entries, tenant related transactions, and/or answering questions as needed

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8 am – 5 pm (but after-hours availability may be periodically required to meet deadlines). Variations in time will be considered to meet personal preference.
