What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grant Writer position at PCC Community Wellness Center?
The Grant Writer is responsible for assisting the Director of Development with fund development, including writing grant proposals, managing budgets, submitting grant reports, producing donor newsletters, and supporting donor relations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Writes grant proposals responsive to the needs of PCC Community Wellness Center; prepares and submits timely, accurate reports and budget revisions for general operating and program grants.
2. Write stories about patients and staff highlighting the positive impact that PCC has on improving health and wellness in underserved communities.
3. Helps produce newsletter for donors, policymakers, and other key audiences that demonstrates how PCC helps improve health outcomes in low-income communities and why PCC is deserving of their support.
4. Organizes, implements, and supports fundraising activities at the direction of the Director of Development to advance the strategic priorities of the department. Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and recognizes foundation and government grants and individual donations.
5. Identifies new funding opportunities through research and collaboration with the program teams.
6. Participates in cross-functional teams to prepare grant proposals and manage the implementation of awards.
7. Helps manage donor database.
8. Maintains proficient knowledge of the organization’s history, programs, and strategic plan.
9. Writes occasional acknowledgements to individual donors and logs donations.
Qualifications:Education / Experience
1. Bachelor’s Degree in related field
2. 1-3 years’ experience in grant writing preferred
3. Demonstrated writing, organizational, and time management skills
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Certifications/Licenses:
None Required
Physical Demands:
· Hybrid, working in-office 50% of time.
· May be required to work irregular hours including nights and weekends as necessary to complete assigned duties and responsibilities and/or supervise others.
· Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
· Occasionally positions self to maintain exertion of physical strength to move objects of 10 pounds from one level to another.

· Ability to read and write proficiently using the English language and without AI.
