About The Opportunity
The Visual & Broadcast Design Intern supports the PBS North Carolina Creative Team in the development and execution of visual design assets that promote programming, campaigns, and organizational initiatives. The intern assists with the creation of brand-aligned graphics and marketing materials while gaining exposure to the public media production environment. This role provides practical experience in a collaborative creative setting and contributes to projects that support storytelling and community engagement across North Carolina. This position is a hybrid work arrangement and will work 2-3 days per week onsite at the Bryan Center in Research Triangle Park, NC . UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.About PBS North Carolina

PBS North Carolina's Marketing Communications Division is responsible for the development and execution of marketing plans to drive brand awareness, engage audiences, drive fundraising and contributions, and advance the organization's mission.Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills
Recent college graduate from a constituent institution within the University of North Carolina system (student must have graduated in Spring 2025 or after) OR Currently enrolled in a constituent institution within the University of North Caroliina system AND Be a full-time undergraduate student (at least 12 semester hours) OR Be a graduate student (9 semester hours).
Pursuing (or recently obtained) a degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related creative field.Required Competencies

- Basic proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Demonstrated interest in graphic design, branding, visual storytelling, or marketing communications.

- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a professional creative environment.Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
- Experience or coursework in motion graphics or video editing. * Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro and/or After Effects. * Interest in public media, broadcast production, or storytelling through visual design. * Understanding of brand standards and design systems.
