The Risk Advisory Services Staff Consultant plays a supportive role in executing client engagements, assisting with the delivery of accurate and timely client deliverables. As a staff member, you will be assigned more routine and less complex tasks initially, with the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge over time. You will work under the direction of more senior team members, to complete assignments. You will contributes to the success of engagements by ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently, while continuing to build your technical expertise.

What you will do:
- Applies auditing principles to analyze client information and prepares accurate work papers for all engagements
- Responsible for knowing and achieving the Firm’s expectations for quality work
- Follows the progress of engagements and helps to identify and research issues as assigned
- Assists in the preparation of all client deliverables
- Responsible for reporting to the In Charge while assigned on a job to include communicating the job status and reporting any issues in a timely manner
- Following and completing the training plan that is assigned to them, to include CPE
- Willingness to learn increasingly more difficult technology and auditing skills as they progress
- Understands PBMares engagement approach and methodologies
- Able to effectively complete work paper documentation requirements
- Understanding the limits of one’s knowledge and seeking help from others on the engagement team
- Collaborate with others on the engagement team and appropriate client personnel to ensure successful completion of engagement
- Clearly and accurately documents the execution of specific audit procedures as defined by the engagement objectives and planned audit approach. Recommends process improvement
- Consistently present a positive, respectful, and well-prepared image during client interactions, including arriving on time, dressing appropriately, actively listening, speaking clearly and concisely, maintaining a positive attitude, and following through on commitments, all while prioritizing the client's needs and concerns.
- Maintains a strong client focus by being responsive to client requests
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1 year relevant experience
- CPA, CIA, or CISA eligible or ability to obtain within 1-2 years of hire
- Basic auditing skills
- Interpersonal and business communication skills – verbal and written
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate progressive ability to work independently requiring less and less supervision by more experienced staff
- Proficiency with technology including at a minimum Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Flexibility to travel to out-of-town engagements
- $62,000-$99,000
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Academic internship in the accounting field
- 1 or more directly related years of experience in public accounting
