Duties
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using Dentrix.
- Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle billing inquiries efficiently.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages.
- Maintain accurate patient records by updating electronic health records (EHR) systems and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and documentation review to facilitate seamless patient care.
- Handle office administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing medical records to keep the clinic organized and compliant.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate patient intake, medical history updates, and appointment scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with health information management standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient data.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist in a clinical setting; dental office experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and insurance processes.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (10 key typing).
- Ability to navigate multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to health information management and patient privacy.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks.
