The strongest candidates will have at least 2 years of hands-on animal care experience, whether personal, volunteer, or professional, and the confidence to handle both large and small dogs.
You Should Also Bring
Compensation is based on commission per service, plus mileage reimbursement, a cell phone stipend, and 100% of tips. For candidates with 0 to 1 years of experience, starting pay for weekend work averages about $16 to $22 per hour depending on number of walks completed, with higher starting pay available for those with more professional paid dog walking or pet sitting experience.
This is a W-2 employee position, not an independent contractor role.

What You'll Do
- Provide solo dog walks and pet sitting visits that give each animal focused, individualized care.
- Handle a range of daily pet care responsibilities including feeding, play, waste cleanup, litter box care, and home-visit support.
- Safely manage dogs of different sizes and temperaments while maintaining high standards for animal welfare and client trust.
- Complete detailed visit updates through the scheduling app, including notes and photos for pet owners and the internal team.
- Manage your schedule independently, stay responsive during shifts, and step in when coverage or schedule adjustments are needed.
- Work outdoors in changing New England weather conditions and maintain safe, reliable transportation between visits.
- Within the first few weeks, you can confidently complete assigned walks and pet sitting visits on schedule with minimal supervision.
- Clients consistently receive reliable communication, thoughtful visit notes, and visible evidence of attentive care.
- Pets in your care are safe, comfortable, and well-managed, including those with medication needs, behavioral sensitivities, or more physically demanding routines.
- You become a dependable member of the team who can handle midday routes efficiently and help absorb additional visits as business grows.
- Over 6 to 12 months, you expand your hours and responsibilities based on performance, client demand, and your comfort level.

- The physical ability to walk up to 6 miles per day and lift approximately 40 to 50 pounds when needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort using a smartphone, GPS, and scheduling software
- A reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and auto insurance
- Availability during agreed-upon weekday hours, with flexibility for last-minute visits as needed
- A clean criminal background and driving record
- Four references, including 3 professional and 1 personal

- 15 hours per week between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
- 20 hours per week between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
