Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess the skills necessary to provide exceptional support in a kennel environment. This role involves caring for pets, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the well-being of animals in our facility.
Duties
- Provide daily care for dogs, including feeding and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of suites and common areas by regularly cleaning and sanitizing spaces.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns.
- Assist with customer service and reception duties.
- Ability to give baths and nail trims when requested.
- Help with heavy lifting tasks associated with moving animals or supplies within the facility.
- Participate in training sessions for dogs when required, promoting positive behavior and obedience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kennel or pet care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong animal handling skills with an understanding of various breeds and their needs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required (up to 50 pounds).
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners and team members.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.
