Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Attendant/Animal Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and the ability to provide exceptional care in a safe and nurturing environment. This role involves working with various species, including dogs, cats, and possibly other species, ensuring their well-being through daily care routines and attention to their needs.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of animal living areas, ensuring a hygienic environment.
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed.
- Engage with pet owners, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Support training initiatives for animals in care, reinforcing positive behaviors.
- Participate in pet grooming activities as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures while handling animals.
Skills
- Proficient in dog and cat handling techniques and understanding canine/feline behavior.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Skills in pet grooming to maintain the appearance and hygiene of animals.
- General pet care experience, including feeding, walking, and socializing pets.
- Experience in pet sitting or kennel management is advantageous.
