Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team to act as the manager on duty (MOD). The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting daily operations, enhancing customer satisfaction, and maintaining safety of guests. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a passion for teamwork. The Assistant Manager will assist in managing staff and overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure that the facility runs smoothly.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing daily operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency and productivity.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Manage shifts effectively, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage for your shift.
- Support team management by training new employees and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Assist in reception and/or animal attendant duties as needed to support overall operations.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Ensure medications are given accurately.
- Complete thorough temperament test evaluations on new canine guests to determine eligibility for future appointments/reservations.
- Arrange safe playgroups for canine guests that can be managed by animal attendants.
- Communicate behavior issues with pet owners.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in kennel management or kennel attendant role is highly preferred.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong organizational skills.
Shift Times
- Shift times include a combination of 5am - 2pm, 9am - 5pm & 2pm - 10pm.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed. This also applies to Masters Week and summer months as these are considered our peak times.
Pay & Benefits:
The starting pay for the Assistant Manager position is $16-17 per hour, based on prior experience, and increases after successful completion of the 90-day probation period.
Staff are eligible to receive tips, employee discounts, birthday pay & eligible for pay increases dependent on overall performance & attendance.
