Duties
- Assist with the daily cleaning, feeding, and watering of animals housed in kennels or cages to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, ensuring their comfort and security during interactions.
- Provide attentive pet sitting services, including monitoring behavior and responding promptly to any signs of distress or illness.
- Help with dog training exercises under supervision to encourage good behavior and socialization.
- Supervise and engage dogs during daycare playtime, ensuring they remain safe while socializing and interacting with other dogs.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care activities, including feeding schedules, medical treatments, and behavioral observations.
Experience
- Prior experience working with animals in a kennel, veterinary clinic, pet grooming salon, or pet sitting environment is preferred but not required. On-the-job training available.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary procedures enhances your ability to excel in this role.
- Strong customer service skills are essential for communicating effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and perform hands-on animal care duties throughout the day is required.
