Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Technician to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality animal care, assisting with medical procedures, and supporting the overall operations of our veterinary facility. This role offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of animals, including small pets and equines, in a fast-paced clinical environment. Duties
- Provide daily care and monitoring of animals, including feeding, grooming, and cleaning enclosures.
- Assist veterinarians with medical procedures such as medication administration, animal restraint, and catheterization.
- Maintain accurate records of animal health, treatments, and laboratory results.
- Support laboratory testing procedures and handle specimens following aseptic techniques.
- Restrain animals safely during examinations or treatments, utilizing proper animal handling techniques.
- Assist with pet care activities at the front desk, including client communication and appointment scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Support animal physiology assessments and understand veterinary terminology relevant to daily tasks.
- Handle various species including dogs, cats, and horses, demonstrating knowledge of animal anatomy and behavior.
Qualifications
- Prior kennel experience or animal husbandry background preferred.
- Experience as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices and laboratory procedures is a plus.
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques, medication administration, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience working with equine animals is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of animal physiology, anatomy, and pet care standards.
- Excellent animal handling skills, including dog handling and pet care expertise.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $15.45 - $16.00 per hour
