What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Schoodic Animal Hospital?
Schoodic Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our small animal hospital team.
This position requires both strong technical and people skills, as our team is committed to providing exceptional patient and client care. We utilize our technicians and assistants to their full potential. Responsibilities include nursing and patient care, assisting with exams, procedures and surgery, in-house laboratory work, radiology, and more. We are looking for someone who can work a flexible schedule, enjoys interacting with the public, is responsible and self-motivated, and genuinely cares about pets and their families.
As one of the few independently owned veterinary hospitals in the area, Schoodic Animal Hospital offers the advantages of a locally owned, non-corporate practice. Our independent ownership allows us to maintain a close-knit team environment, make decisions with our patients, clients, and employees in mind, and provide a more personal approach to veterinary medicine. If you value working in a practice where your contributions are recognized and where the focus remains on quality patient care rather than corporate priorities, we would love to hear from you. Compensation is competitive and based on skill level and experience: $23/hour and up. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, retirement plan, discounted veterinary services, and continuing education opportunities. We are located in Sullivan, Maine, just 25 minutes east of Ellsworth and Acadia National Park. Come work with a dedicated team in a beautiful coastal Maine community.
