Duties
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, clipping, and styling coats to meet breed standards and owner preferences
- Handle animals with care using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other hygiene procedures to maintain optimal health
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming requests and provide advice on pet coat care and maintenance
- Assist with animal handling during grooming sessions, ensuring gentle yet secure restraint when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools and work areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Support pet care routines such as feeding, administering medications if trained, and monitoring animal behavior during grooming sessions
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming or related animal care fields such as veterinary technician or assistant roles
- Knowledge of dog training, animal handling, and animal restraint techniques
- Ability to handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, and other companion animals with patience and confidence
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during grooming procedures
- Familiarity with kennel operations, pet sitting, and general animal care practices
- Prior experience with veterinary procedures such as veterinary experience or veterinary assistant roles is a plus
- Passion for animal welfare combined with excellent customer service skills
