Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide safe and reliable transportation to Agency clients and the general public as requested. Ensure passengers observe safety procedures.
- Provide assistance to riders entering and exiting the vehicle; operate wheelchair lift when necessary.
- Plan route to ensure the most economical use of time and equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment. Document results to assist with lifecycle management of the fleet.
- Clean equipment as time permits.
- Document vehicle usage on trip log daily.
- Maintain and advance knowledge and skills related specifically to position or to field of work through regular review of pertinent materials or participation in training events as approved by supervisor.
- Adhere to the standards, policies and instructions established by PMHS Policy and Procedure and any applicable ethical codes within field of employment.
- Review and comply with the Pawnee Code of Conduct outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Assist the Transportation Team Leader with the basic vehicle maintenance to ensure vehicles are mechanically sound and can be operated in a safe manner.
Qualifications:
Required
- Valid Kansas Driver’s License and automobile liability insurance maintained in accordance with Pawnee policy and procedure.
- 4 years of independent driving experience.
- Oral and written communication skills using the English language.
- Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
- Public transportation experience.
$16.44 an hour
